I really try to witness to my friends and foes, but sometimes I get really nervous because I don't know how they would react. Don't get me wrong: I'm not ashamed of the gospel. I just have a hard time since there are a lot of "goth" people in my high school.

We appreciate your honesty. It's natural to feel nervous when you're sharing the gospel. But God gives us the courage we need and the words to say when we just allow Him to work through us.
How should I go about telling about God's word to people I don't know very well? And what is the most effective way?

Sharing God's truth with people can be intimidating, especially people you don't know very well. And it's almost impossible to say that one method is the most effective. But your desire to share your faith is really great. Many Christians don't have boldness in their witness for Christ, and you're taking the first step toward spiritual growth by wanting to share your faith. The Bible teaches us that true believers want to share with others what God has done for them (read John 4:28-30, John 4:39-42 and 1 John 1:1-4).

Eva lives in a rural part of Germany where almost everyone considers himself or herself 'Christian,' yet few are serious about following Christ. So when Eva, at 16, decided to really live for God, she immediately found herself at odds with her culture-particularly with the youth culture in her region, which revolves around weekend parties with lots of alcohol.

Will We 'See You at the Pole?'

See You at the Pole™ connects believers together at the beginning of the school year, so you can stand strong together throughout the year. It's all about prayer. It's about you coming together and laying aside all of the labels and groups for one day, to simply engage with God in prayer and connect with fellow Christians in unity around the flag pole.

Over the past few years, I've heard people ask a question similar to this one: 'You talk about doing things like ending slavery, helping the poor and doing other things like that. Those might be important things, but there's a whole generation of people who are lost and going to hell. Why aren't you concentrating on that?'

I remember the first time I ever shared my faith. I was nervous; I was mumbling-I was probably more confused than the guy I was sharing with. We were in the driver's education car. I locked it and told him that he wasn't going anywhere. I've come a long way in my witnessing since then!

There are many fears that plague Christians in terms of proclaiming the Truth of the Gospel: Rejection. Inability. Discomfort. But, what does the Word of God say about these things? Let's examine how hiding God's Word in our heart sets us free to go into all the World to proclaim this Truth.

There have been far too many times when I could have-when I should have-shared with someone what Jesus did on the cross for them. To my lasting shame, some have died without me telling them.

How can I get the worst kid in my county to become a Christian?

Good for you for being concerned about the salvation of even the worst kid you know. This shows that God is working in you! The best thing you can do for this kid is to pray for him; only God can show people that He loves them and that they need Jesus to forgive them. Remember that the way we live often affects people more than our words—especially for someone who knows us well. You might want to ask God for opportunities to interact in a positive way. Be friendly and caring, just as Jesus would be.
In society today, we are told to "respect" everyone's beliefs which means people look down on us if we even mention Jesus to these people because "we are trying to change them." What advice would you give to students about witnessing to atheists and other groups who think our beliefs are "offensive?"

We need to have respect for those who have religious beliefs other than our own, but this does not mean that we have to agree with those beliefs-and it certainly does not mean that we cannot share our faith in Jesus with them. However, our increasingly pluralistic society would tell us otherwise.
I have a friend who believes in Christ, but she also believes that God has chosen to reveal himself to everyone in different forms, such as Buddhism, Islam, etc. She thinks I am close-minded for believing otherwise. How do I lovingly show her that the only way to the Father is through Jesus?
